Our Needs
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." The MEED Center takes this phrase very seriously. Instead of offering free housing or money, we offer people the tools they need to succeed professionally or with entrepreneurship.
The MEED Center offers free business services and can help you grow your business from the start to the end. In addition, we offer scholarships for high school and college students, professional development programs for youth and older business professionals, free counseling, free legal help, and much more.
The MEED Center can always use help. With a bigger budget we can create more free seminars and expand the area we currently hold them, expand our scholarship program, and improve on our Global Youth Leadership Program launching this year. Think of the MEED Center when considering your giving this year.
Mission
Multi-Ethnic Education and Economic Development Center is a non-profit 501 (C) 3 organization established to assist the low-to-moderate income with entrepreneurial support, business development, education, job training, and community events.
Equity Statement
It is our mission to assist the low-to-moderate income individuals (LMIs) with entrepreneurial support, business development, education, job training and access to cultural diversity celebrations.
All the services offered at the MEED Center are geared toward helping the LMI population create small businesses, fostering job creation and self-sufficiency. About 75% of the MEED Center's clients are Low-to-Moderate-Income adults, and 50% of our students are refugees or immigrants with five or fewer years of US residency. Business creation for these LMI individuals means a better future for their families, confidence in a new country and pride that only the "American dream" can provide.
