Our Needs
The Foundation awards merit and need based scholarships to law students during the annual scholarship gala. Throughout the year, the Foundation receives and reviews grants from community groups that support youth programs, law student programs, legal education and awareness for community members, mentoring, school supply drives, as well as other grant requests related to our stated mission.
Mission
The Foundation shall administer educational and scholarship programs aimed at ensuring a continued pipeline of law students and lawyers of color in Dallas County and surrounding communities in North Texas; support the work, history and mission of the J. L. Turner Legal Association; and support initiatives, activities or efforts involving issues impacting the African-American community in Dallas County and surrounding communities in North Texas which require the use of legal services.
