OUTREACH MINISTRY
The office of Outreach sees the image of God Himself in each person. The office of Outreach strives to uphold the dignity of every person and respond to our love of God through service to others. Our focus is to help the sick, hungry and disadvantaged in our community.

YOUTH MINISTRY

Holy Spirit Youth Ministry helps teens serve Christ and invite Him more deeply into their lives.  Our Youth Ministry program offers many things, including: Retreats, Conferences, Service Projects, Special Liturgies, Pro-Life Activities, Community Building, Mission Trips and Leadership Training for our teens to learn to both love and serve God.

Our Needs

OUTREACH PROJECT:

A heartfelt thank you extends to all the kind donors who graciously supported our North Texas Giving Day campaign in the previous year. Your contributions played a pivotal role in raising funds for the renovation of our longstanding Food Pantry. While it dutifully served its purpose, our space had grown outdated and was in dire need of rejuvenation. Through the dedicated efforts of our Knights of Columbus, Council 8157, our pantry underwent a transformation, boasting fresh coats of paint, removal of antiquated cabinetry, installation of extra electrical outlets (to accommodate new refrigeration), and modern lighting. Additionally, we invested in innovative rolling shelving units that facilitate efficient stocking and rotation of non-perishable food items.

Presently, Holy Spirit Food Pantry embarks on a crucial fundraising endeavor: the acquisition of a commercial refrigerator. This endeavor holds immense significance as it stands to substantially augment the pantry's ability to store and distribute perishable good. A commercial refrigerator offers the essential space and efficiency required to accommodate a greater quantity of fresh produce, dairy, and other temperature-sensitive items. In effect, this enhancement guarantees that the pantry can extend a more diverse range of healthier food choices to those in need. With the indispensable support of our community and generous donations, securing this equipment not only curbs food wastage but also magnifies the pantry's positive impact on the well-being of individuals and families who rely on its invaluable services.

Notably, Holy Spirit Food Pantry has witnessed a marked surge in visits from both recurring and new clients. The acquisition of new refrigeration assumes heightened significance during peak seasons, such as summer and holidays, when the demand for assistance is notably high. This initiative will empower us to offer expanded options for our clients, further underscoring our commitment to their well-being.

YOUTH MINISTRY PROJECT:

For the past three years, the COVID-19 pandemic severely reduced our ability to participate in youth retreats and mission trips.  These experiences are essential for our youth, as they allow them to grow in relationship with their Catholic peers and experience a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus.  Mission trips allow our Catholic youth to truly “live” their faith by serving others, putting their belief into action and serving as models of Christianlove.  Your NTGD donation will help offset the expense of these experiences so that more youth have an opportunity to participate throughout the year.

Giving Activity

Mission

We, the family of faith at Holy Spirit, proclaim that by our Baptism we share in Christ's mission as Priest, Prophet, and King. Therefore, we recognize our responsibility to give worship to God, reverence to all people, respect to all creation, and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Acknowledging our own brokenness and our need to hope, we seek to be a forgiving and welcoming community committed to service by the sharing of life and love with all, and working together to make peace and justice a reality in our world. Strengthened by the presence of God in our lives, we undertake all of this through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Needs

During this campaign we are seeking funding to help us purchase commercial refrigeration that will help us provide more options for our families in need of food. We provide Thanksgiving Meals during the holiday and need proper storage for turkeys and produce. Our partnership with Catholic Charities also provides us opportunities to receive produce, dairy and meats, proper refrigeration will allow us to access additional food to share with our clients.

Additionally, your support to this year’s campaign will support our Youth Ministry program, as well. Mission trips allow our Catholic youth to truly live their faith by serving others, putting belief into action and serving as models of Christian love. Your donation will help offset the expense of these experiences so that more youth can have the opportunity to participate throughout the year.
