In calendar 2020, Friends of Oak Cliff Parks provided over 2,100 hours of volunteer services (by over 250 individuals) in the Oak Cliff Parks of the City of Dallas and since the beginning of 2016, over 15,000 hours by over 1,500 volunteers! Our work involves both regular maintenance of the gardens, as well as the installation of the Lake Cliff Park Crape Myrtle Demonstration Garden and the Lake Cliff Abelia Demonstration Garden. These newly designed and installed gardens replace sections of the rose garden lost to the rose rosette disease which is destroying so many roses in the north Texas area. They feature 26 varieties of crape myrtles showing the variety of sizes, colors and shapes and 14 varieties of abelias. Through of our website plantsmap.com/friendsofoakcliffparks, visitors to the parks can gain instant access thru QR reader plant ID signs to information on each variety.

In 2021 we will begin works on the redesign and planting of the Japanese Gardens at Kidd Springs.
