$10,000 Goal

In 2022, we were able to save 89 dogs and adopt out 86. In 2023, so far we have saved 65 and adopted out 62, and still have four months left to go! We have crossed over a number of state lines to help save pups, and our adopters have come from as far as Alaska and Canada to adopt. And it is only with the help of our generous supporters, fosters, transporters, volunteers and social media sharers that we are able to adopt and help as many as we have.

Our Needs

Rescue is a costly proposition. Of the dogs we save, many are heartworm positive, have major medical issues, suffered from abuse or neglect and/ or had traumatic behavioral problems and have to rehabilitated both physically and/or behaviorally. We work with fantastic veterinarians, trainers and behaviorists all over TX who give us great rates, but as a small non-profit, we rely on the generosity of our donors to ensure we can assist all the dogs in our care. In 2022, we raised over $75,000 but spent over $92,000 on care for our pups. And our needs are not only financial - we always need fosters, volunteers, and transport assistance to support our pups!

It takes a village to do what we do, and we have the best village out there. Thank you for taking the time to learn about BCSAVE and share our journey with us!

Giving Activity

Mission

Border Collie Save and Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable dog rescue dedicated to helping border collies throughout Central and North Texas. Our actions revolve around rescuing, rehabbing, and re-homing border collies. This includes taking in border collies and border collie mixes who are in toxic and/or desperate situations. We place them into foster homes, where we tend to all of their medical needs, spay/neuter them, begin any needed physical and mental rehabilitation, start some basic training, and provide them with a loving & save place to live. Finally, we place them with appropriate and vetted adopters who fully meet the needs of the individual dog.

Needs

Our two greatest needs are fosters and funds. Without fosters, we are not able to get dogs into loving temporary homes while they wait for a FURever family. And without funds, we can't provide the medical care and other necessessities our pups need.

Equity Statement

We believe there is no place for hate, tolerance, discrimination, or racism.
