We are more than a flight museum!
We use the Power of Aerospace to Improve Society. We are Smithsonian-Affiliated! We have 35,000 rare-to-the-world artifacts and unique exhibits. Our Core Values: Trust - Excellence - Optimism – Integrity. Our staff members come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. We have a robust volunteer program – join us!
THE FUTURE: WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
We are entering a new era at the museum, and we have new leadership. We are culturally diversifying our Board membership and increased numbers from 15 to 21 in August 2023. We are engaging the community with more outreach and working with the City of Dallas to beautify our museum.
We are bringing the women’s perspective into the museum through new visual and audio displays. We are introducing a new women’s event series in 2024. We are redoing our website and rebranding – we are not just an event space and place to host birthday parties (although that is FUN!) LAUNCH We are launching DESTINATION: Frontiers in October 2023 We are planning a refresh of facilities! We are planning the addition of a new café, restaurant, bookstore, enhanced visitor experiences and displays. We are raising funds for new age appropriate and sensory friendly children’s play spaces.
We are creating new pathways out of poverty for kids ages 13-17 who want a career in Aerospace (workforce development)

We have a $2.1 million budget that impacts the community in this way:
150,000 annual visitors from around the world come to see our exhibits and unique displays.
52,000 students come to camps, educational events, and themed programs.
98,000 families/children come to tour the museum every year.
It costs $23.79 per student to deliver our programs to the public.
AEROSPACE-STEM FOCUS
We are founders of the Aerospace STEM-Leaders program.
We partner with UTA, TWU, UTD and 200 other nonprofits every year.
Frontiers of Flight Museum was created to:
Collect, preserve, and participate in the dynamic and diverse stories of aerospace in Texas, around Love Field and beyond.
Capture the awe of the past, present, and future of aviation and space.
Provide unique innovative AEROPSACE STEM-learning opportunities.
Create a sense of belonging and community around the shared joy of flight and space.
The Museum allocates 59% of its $2.1 million budget to educate 52,000 North Texas students each year from very poor neighborhoods about AEROSPACE-STEM. Many of these students have the talent, but not the access in their suburbs, especially from underserved communities and Title 1 schools.
We give them pathways out of poverty that have a multigenerational impact. The Aerospace Industry is looking to hire a diverse talent pool that extends to business, marketing, finance, and cyber-security. It goes beyond engineering and general aviation/flight.
We will serve over 52,000 students this year. We need new classroom equipment, snacks, technology, art supplies, and interactive learning aides and materials. We also need mentors, speakers, new education, aerospace and other community partners with options to help them get where they need to be through 3rd grade to trade school, college and beyond.
Our Red Vest Volunteers, often retired pilots, women in Aerospace and other professionals, play a crucial role. While we provide training, we welcome aviation enthusiasts as docents to support our educators in achieving our student outreach goals.
To maintain our aircraft and space vehicle collection, we require the expertise of Aerospace professionals for refurbishment. These efforts, not included in our operating budget, demand additional funding, as we currently work on restoring the General Dynamics YF-16B "Fighting Falcon."
Your support, whether through funding, volunteering, or expertise, directly contributes to inspiring the next generation (especially girls), in a career in Aerospace.
