Denton Baptist Association

Denton Baptist Association provides training and support for church leaders and strengthens churches so they can better support their community. Once a year we provide an opportunity for individuals and families to pack bags of rice that will be sent all over the world through the Hunger Challenge. Last year with the help of volunteers we packed enough food for 28,512 meals in just 2 hours. It is a great undertaking, but well worth the effort.

We have 5 ministries that we support both financially and relationally: Disaster Relief, Camp Copass, UNT and TWU Baptist Ministries and Texas Raceway Ministries. This year we are raising funds to help support Camp Copass which has lost 90% of their funding due to the pandemic. To learn more about Camp Copass, click on Our Needs above.

Our Needs

This year the funds we receive will be given to Camp Copass which opened in 1946 on a peninsula of Lake Lewisville. Seventy-four years later, it is now one of the premiere Christian camps in Texas. The camp exists primarily for the purpose of providing an environment conducive to Christian worship, training, discipleship, evangelism and recreation. They value every person and desire to love people as Christ loves us and to serve others in Jesus' name. Due to COVID-19 their programming, which includes children and youth camps and retreats, has been reduced by 90%. This has placed a huge strain on the camp and staff. The funds raised through NTGD will help to alleviate some of the financial stress they are under.

In the summer, Camp Copass normally has approixmately 5000 campers pass through its gates during the month of July. On the weekends the camp facilities are used by a variety of non-profits, schools and churches. Due to the 2020 Pandemic, the camp had to close from March to mid-June.
