We are an active group of professionals, volunteers, and retirees who are dedicated to serving Grand Prairie, TX, and our communities. Soroptimists are a dynamic, high-energy group of women who care about making the world a better place for women and girls. We are a voice for women through awareness, advocacy, and action. We enjoy working together and raising funds to help women and girls. We promote gender equality, empowerment, education, diversity, and fellowship! The name Soroptimist means "Best for Women." As the name suggests, we are part of an international organization of members who support a common vision, mission, and core values.
Mission
A global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.
Equity Statement
Our focus is on education because ANY educated women and girls are 1. less vulnerable to sex traffickers, 2. more likely to leave a domestic violence situation and not return, 3. able to access healthcare, 4. less likely to live in poverty, and 5. able to raise stronger, healthier families
