Since its founding in 2019, EduFREE has donated over 900 books to disadvantaged students in the DFW area. Our partners include Plano ISD, Dallas and surrounding ISD's, and Half Price Books. We have gotten youth from over 3 districts involved in this program's vision, and hope to expand nationwide. Most recently, 300 AP, SAT, PSAT and ACT books from a partnership with Be the Light Youth Association were donated to City House, a local homeless shelter for youth, and ISD's with stated needs.
Our Needs
EduFREE needs funding to:
1) Bring more educational materials to districts state-wide. With your help, EduFREE can provide an even larger number of students in low-income and underprivileged areas with resources that could greatly benefit them.
2) Incorporate workshops, webinars, and tutoring to assist youth in writing essays, applying for financial aid, and extra standardized testing practice. These events often come at a cost and your donation would empower ALL our youth to start on the journey towards higher education.
3) Increase engagement and outreach with low-income youth who are preparing for the college application process. Panelists and certified teachers would be an extremely helpful asset towards growing the mission of EduFREE and the number of students that we can support.
Mission
As a for-youth, by youth 501(c)(3) non-profit organization organized and operated for the purpose of collecting and re-distributing study materials. EduFREE strives to provide underprivileged students with equal access to educational opportunities. We aim to bridge the opportunity gap by ensuring students in need gain access to AP, SAT, and ACT prep books. All of the donations we receive go to disadvantaged students in inner city schools who would otherwise be financially incapable of obtaining such aids. In the search for higher education, clear disparities exist in resources available to students in low-income communities, and EduFREE's goal is to combat this prevalent issue.
