Who We Are
There are about 4,000 homeless youth in North Texas with many of them having been homeless for an average of 12 months over the last three years. About 60% of those youth have suffered family violence, 40% have been abused or neglected and 30% had been through the foster care system.
Since 1988, our mission has been to protect, serve and empower the lives of children & young adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or homelessness. We are here for a reason.
In 2022, City House served a total of 1,091 unduplicated clients with a total of 8,901 days of care. We provided 2,445 hours of counseling and responded to 674 crisis calls.
We are also the designated "Safe Place" for Collin and Denton Counties. If an unaccompanied minor enters a Safe Place and asks for help, we get the call.

Serving Collin & Dallas County and the majority of North Texas, City House strives to provide emergency shelter, transitional residential living and street outreach programs and services to at-risk children, youth and young adults (newborn to 24 years) who are in need due to abuse, neglect or homelessness, with a special focus on supporting the unique experiences of LGBTQ young people.
