United MegaCare (UMC) operates in four core focus areas - Education, Health & Wellness, Secure Families and Disaster Resiliency. Each area has uniquely development programs that target the needs of the most vulnerable in the Dallas Metroplex. United MegaCare is a compassionate organization and we are equipped to break the barriers that prevent individuals from thriving in life, by focusing on building and providing sustainable programs to help us achieve a better future for all. We strive to address the local and global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, clean water and sanitation initiatives.

As an organization, we want to continue to foster meaningful relationships through strengthening our community partnerships and collaborations as we build resilient communities for the future. We want to continue to play a significant role in enhancing food security for low-to-moderate income families, educate people in the areas of financial stability, public health, disaster preparedness, mental health and offer supportive services for our homeless population.

United MegaCare have been boots on the ground when disaster occurs or if there’s a humanitarian need; as well as developed multiple partnerships with national organizations. United MegaCare also extended its reach to our global partners through our feeding programs, clean water initiatives, child advocacy initiatives, offer disaster preparedness workshops, relief services, and recovery assistance. In addition, through our Secure Families initiatives we have fed over 400,000 families and distributed 35,000 pounds of clothes and other necessities through our efforts. We are able to accomplish this with over 2,000 dedicated, well-trained volunteers, able and eager to mobilize to help those in need. United MegaCare believes in the value of our mission, to transform and empower lives through hope, practice and partnership and will continue to exemplify excellence through our outreach efforts locally, nationally and globally.

Our Needs

Currently, we (United MegaCare) are seeking to expand our local and national outreach initiatives for the most vulnerable families and disaster relief efforts by bringing food and supplies directly to those communities and individuals that need it the most. In order to increase our distribution pipeline, we seek to expand/upgrade our onsite building that can store food, clothes, furniture, medical supplies and other necessities as we distribute to our families in need all over the world.  Our hope would be to double the amount of families we are able to serve by the increase of resources we can receive and distribute out.

In addition, we are also seeking resources to expand our global humanitarian efforts that address food insecurity, health and wellness, homelessness, clean water initiatives and child advocacy to name a few. We have multiple on going projects in other countries that can provide wrap-around services to address these needs and provide the necessary resources to assist our partners. For example, United MegaCare provided aid for Melchizedek Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya to purchase medical supplies, resources and the extension of a Covid wing as they faced the increase in COVID cases during the pandemic. Additionally, United MegaCare provided food to over 3,000 people in Honduras and 6,000 homeless people in India as part of our relief efforts and adopted an orphanage with 65 children who were malnourished and suffered from major health issues due to unclean water and limited medical resources prior to our involvement.
