Jazz BeCuzz has been working in the DFW metroplex for over 7 years. Now we have had our own facility for going on our 6th year. Our goal is fostering new and interactive way to get the entire family involved in cultural and fine arts. Workshops for senior citizens to encourage dance/ body movement with music and simply fun, music workshops for teens educating on the transition from analog to digital and the history of the music industry, instrument exploration classes and performances for everyone from 3 to 95, jazz and art nights and creative writing and poetry for parents - we feel we have introduced the arts as an alternative that allows the family to be involved under one roof and take home the ideas to share over and over again and create a stronger home unit and lasting memories. We feel this impacts our entire community and they way we interact culturally and ethnically.
Our Needs
Jazz BeCuzz is seeking funding and accepting donations to help us continue and expand our ability to provide unmatched opportunities for our supporters and affordable programming so large families in need and families with low income can participate in what we feel is a positive focus on building and sustaining our communities through art.
We provide pianos that have been donated and restored in homes for qualified families who apply.
We offer low cost art education for students of all ages who are willing to meet the study and attendance requirements with world renowned educators. We host special live music/exercise session for senior citizens who are often unvisited or have very little means to move about on their own. Attendees sing along, dance, and get a well needed break from the sometimes long, lonely day.
The Jazz BeCuzz "Good Lyfe" programs are designed to encourage healthy habits and creative outlets for families enduring difficult times. With dance, music and art as a focal point, participants are able to explore new and productive ways to put their minds to work in a sometimes tough situation.
Jazz BeCuzz holds and hosts Theater, Creative writing and many other free community workshops. We host artistic exploration events such as our music and visual art concert JAZZ 101 and our newly added OFF THE TOP Poetry and Read-in monthly event encourages writing and reading in an intimate and comfortable environment. Each event features a visual art project and diverse talent and is themed to offer the audience an interactive night with special insight into music, culture, history, and creativity. All of these activities are now able to happen under our own roof. We recent expanded to double the size! This is a blessing we are truly excited about.
