Don’t Forget to Feed Me Pet Food Bank provides pet food for those in need during challenging financial times, effectively providing an alternative to surrendering—or worse, abandoning—a family pet.

Don’t Forget to Feed Me Pet Food Bank envisions a community in which all pet owners are able to feed their pets.

  • DF2FM is the only social service agency in North Texas focused solely on assisting pet owners with pet food and does not attempt to duplicate services offered by other organizations or agencies. Focusing on a single issue addresses this specific need efficiently.
  • Many local agencies focus on ensuring that humans have adequate food and nutrition; however, pet owners will often choose to go without food to ensure their companion animals are fed.
  • By providing pet owners with pet food, DF2FM ensures not only that owners are able to feed themselves, but also that pets receive food that is nutritionally appropriate for animals.
  • If pet owners are unable to feed their animals, those animals will end up in shelters or on the streets. By providing pet owners with pet food, DF2FM helps relieve stress on shelters, rescues, and local animal control.

Don’t Forget to Feed Me is a conduit through which donated pet food reaches families in need. DF2FM manages the collection of pet food and allocation to distribution partners, who then in turn distribute it through their normal channels to their clients. DF2FM does not distribute directly to the community. DF2FM only distributes cat and dog food. DF2FM currently provides 35 partners with 30,000 pounds of free pet food each month.

The mission of the Home, Not Alone (HNA) program is to provide free pet food to low-income pet owners through partnerships with local senior centers/communities.

The Maverick Fund is a designated fund specifically to help individual pet-owning households who have experienced catastrophic events (house fires, tornado damage, etc.) that left pet owners without the resources to properly care for their pets.

Mission

The mission of Don’t Forget to Feed Me (DF2FM) is to supply pet food to local agencies in support of pet owners while educating the public about pet food insecurity. By providing pet food for those in need during challenging financial times and increasing awareness, we offer an alternative to surrendering —or worse, abandoning—a family pet. Don’t Forget to Feed Me helps to ensure that no pet owner must choose between stay…or go.
